OUR STORY

OUR STORY

Hi. I am Tracy. Wife to Alan and Mum to our two grown up boys.

I have always been arty and loved drawing, painting and making things when I was a child, doing GCSE Art at school.

Banking and office jobs followed, then being a full time Mum when our boys were born. I eventually retrained to work as a child care professional. Throughout this time, I still enjoyed being creative so when I was made redundant in December 2019 I knew that I wanted to start my own business making jewellery.

The rest, they say, is history!

Koala Krafts and Jewellery is based in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

THE NAME

So, where did the name, Koala Krafts and Jewellery, come from?

Koala's are our youngest son's favourite animal, and I have to say, I think they are rather cute too! I didn't want to limit myself to just making jewellery, so decided to add "Krafts" to the name too. I think it has a good ring to it!

Wire wrapping

In most cases, tarnish resistant silver plated jewellery wire is used for wire wrapping although Sterling silver can also be used.

Many different types of beads are used in my jewellery - acrylic, glass, crystals, gemstones

Handstamping

Individual letters or characters are stamped by hand to make impressions in either aluminium or sterling silver blanks. These are then made into keyrings, necklaces, rings etc.
